Voluum.com Tracker Integration

Tip: The instruction below covers tracker integration. If you want to check the partner’s documentation, please follow this link here.

  1. The MGID Dashboard Settings

Set up a new or open an existing advertising campaign in Dashboard.

Add a new advertising campaign.

1

Add stages 1 to 3 of conversions (Interest, Desire, Action); in addition, an existing or a new goal may be chosen as well. Then, add the click_id = {click_id} parameter to Tracking Tags The name of the click_id parameter is arbitrary, but if desired, another name can be chosen. Please note, the {click_id} macro is required to transfer the hash.

2

2. The Voluum Dashboard Settings

2.1. Log into the Voluum panel and create a new traffic source.

3

It is recommended to choose a ready MGID traffic source template.

4

Additional parameters and macros will be filled in automatically.

Voluum_1

 All that is left to do is fill in the Postback URL.

6

The Postback URL can be found in the advertising campaign settings in the Dashboard. It will look like this:

https://a.mgid.com/postback?c={externalId}&e=event_name123456&r={payout}

 * 123456 is a unique parameter for our system (e.g. the client ID) which will be transferred to our system alongside the event's status.

Where:

c={externalId} is MGID’s click_id;

e=event_name a Postback goal identifier (Interest, Desire, Action) that can be displayed in form of macro or status name.

r = {payout} is an optional parameter to which conversion revenue can be transferred.

In case you want to pass more than one conversion event to MGID, it is necessary to switch on the "traffic source postback URL per event type" option in Voluum and paste other postback links there.

Ultimately, the traffic source settings will look like this:

7

It is also necessary to pay attention to additional settings, namely the External ID, in the Parameter field. The parameter name from the user UTM Tagging should be indicated. This can be found in the settings of an advertising campaign in the MGID Dashboard (See Paragraph 1 of this guide for further instruction). The Placeholder field remains unchanged, namely {click_id}

 2.2 Create a new offer

8

Note that, only the offer name and the offer page URL is required here - e.g. http://yoursite.com?click_id={clickid}. Also, the Postback URL is taken from the offer to transfer conversions from the landing page (site) to the Voluum tracker.

9

You should also provide the parameter that is used by the Affiliate Network/Offer Owner to the Offer URL along with the {clickid} token. To find out more, please refer to the Affiliate Network or the Offer Owner.

2.3. Create a new campaign

10

What requires your attention during the creation of a campaign?

  1. Traffic source: Select the traffic source (See Paragraph 2.1.).
  2. Redirect mode: A type of redirection from Voluum to the landing page (site)
  3. Path Destination: The funnel that your user will have to get through to visit the offer. You can choose here either Lander & Offer funnel (pre-sale and sale site) and Offer only (sale site).
  4. Below that, you should choose the lander and/or offer you will be using in your campaign in the same way as the Offer URL from Paragraph 2.2, e.g. http://yoursite.com?click_id={clickid}; In this case, the click_id parameter will transfer the internal clickid of the Voluum tracker to the landing page (site)

11

The link to the campaign after saving the campaign is in the "Tracking & Automizer" tab. It should be specified in the teaser links in the MGID Dashboard.

1

To some extent, your MGID campaign settings should look like this:

12

3. Transferring Postback to Voluum and its check

After customizing the MGID Dashboard and Voluum, it is necessary to set up the transfer of Postback to Voluum tracker from the Affiliate Network or the Offer Owner. Postback is transferred to Voluum by a POST request, the link to the request is taken from the Offer’s settings (See Paragraph 2.2.). The link should closely resemble this: http://voluum_dedicated_domain.com/postback?cid=REPLACE&payout=OPTIONAL&txid=OPTIONAL

(Note: the domain may vary depending on the Voluum cabinet). In this case, we transfer the parameters: cid - internal Voluum’s click_id; txid - transaction id; and payout - an optional parameter but necessary to transfer revenue to our conversion. Any handy solution for transferring Postback to Voluum can be chosen, e.g. using JavaScript on the site, GTM or PHP on the server.

4. Checking Postback URL settings in Dashboard

This option was created so that the client could immediately check whether he had set everything up correctly on our side and his. During the check, clicks are not counted for the client, money for them is not debited, and the verification data is not included in statistics. To check the correctness of an advertising campaign and integration settings, there is an opportunity to check the operation of Postback.

13

To do this, switch to the “Advertisers" section” in the Dashboard of the advertising campaign, and follow the link indicated under the teaser:

14

Set the target action (Order, Subscribe, Register, etc.). A test conversion will be displayed in total statistics of the client’s account within 15 minutes (test transactions are displayed in brackets):

15

The statistics may be seen and the desired additional parameter may be selected with an indication of the period of dates in the tracker:
