Integration with the partner system

MGID Dashboard Settings

1. Setting up new or existing ad campaign in the Dashboard.

Add new campaign in the Dashboard

Add 1-3 conversion stages (interest, desire, action). Pick a new or existing goal.

Add the parameter click_id={click_id} to the custom UTM markup.
The “
click_id» name is arbitrary, you may rename it.
{click_id} macro is needed to transmit the hash.

2. Voluum Dashboard Settings

2.1 Log into the Voluum and create a new traffic source

It's recommended to use a template for the MGID traffic source. Macros and additional parameters will be already filled out.

Now all you need to do is fill out the Postback URL. You can get it from the ad campaign settings
in the MGID
Dashboard, and it will look like this -{externalid}&e={}&r={payout}

c={externalid} - MGID's click_id;

e={} — this macro transfers the postback goal indicator (interest, desire or action)

r={payout} — optional parameter transmitting the conversions' revenue

In the end, the traffic source settings will look like this:

Notice the additional settings, specifically, External ID: in the Parameter field insert the parameter
from the
custom UTM markup from step 1. Leave the Placeholder field as is - {click_id}

2.2 Create a new offer

Fill out only the name of the offer, landing link, with a mandatory indication of the parameter,
in which the Voluum's internal clickid is transmitted.
For example:{clickid}.
Also, the Postback URL for the conversions transmission is taken from the Landing to the Voluum tracker.

2.3 Create a new campaign

During the campaign creation pay attention to the following features:

  1. Traffic source — select the traffic source created during step 2.1
  2. Redirect mode — a type of redirection from Voluum to a Landing site
  3. Destination - for the settings similar to this guide, you must select the URL value, for Flow and Path, you need to create
    additional settings in the Flows and Ladders sections.
  4. Use the same URL from the offer in step 2.2, e.g.:{clickid}.
    In this case the
    click_id parameter will transmit Voluum's internal clickid of the tracker to the Landing site.

Initially, the Campaign URL field in Voluum will not be filled. The link in this field will appear after saving the campaign.
You will need to specify it in the teaser links in the MGID Dashboard.

MGID campaign setting should look like this:

3. Transferring and testing Postback to Voluum

After setting up the MGID and Voluum Dashboards, you need to set up the postback transfer
to the Voluum tracker on the side of the site or the landing. Postback is sent to the Voluum by a POST request,
the link to the request is taken from the Offer's settings (step 2.2 of this manual). The link looks like this:
(the domain name may change, depending on the
Voluum dashboard)

In this case the parameters we're transmitting are as follows:

cid — Voluum`s internal click_id, always 24 characters, transferring to the end of the link after the redirects;

txid - transaction id, in this case it will transmit postback goal indicator (interest, desire, action);

payout — optional parameter required to transmit the revenue of our conversion.

You can choose any viable solution to transfer postback to Voluum, for example: using JavaScript on the site's side,
or PHP on the server's side

Checking the Postback URL in the Dashboard

This will allow us, and the client, to see if everything works correctly from both sides.

When using this test the clicks won't be counted towards the client's stats, and they won't be charged for them.

To check the postback integration and campaign settings follow these steps:

Go to the Ads section

and click the link under the teaser:

After clicking the link you need to perform the targeted action: order, subscribe, register, etc.

After 15 minutes the test conversion will be displayed in the statistics of the account and will be indicated as a number
in brackets

In the tracker you can see the stats and select an additional parameter in a certain date period:
