Testing Conversion Transfer from BeMob to MGID

The instruction below only covers tracker integration. If you want a more comprehensive understanding of  BeMob and MGID integration, please follow this link here.

MGID Ads Dashboard Settings

To set up the BeMob tracker integration, you need either an existing advertising campaign or a newly created one within your MGID account. Follow these steps:

1. Create a new advertising campaign or edit an existing one in the dashboard.

1. newinterface_manual

2. Navigate to the Conversion tracking section and select the Postback option in the Tracking settings tab.

2. newinterface_manual

3. Add a new conversion goal and create a unique name for the goal. You can select an existing goal here as well.

This field accepts only Latin letters and numbers; when filled in, it is automatically assigned as the "e" parameter.

Here, you can also indicate the conversion cost (optional).

BeMob accepts only 4 types of conversion goal names:

  • Confirm
  • New
  • Decline
  • Charge

3. newinterface_manual

Repeat these steps (i.e., add another goal) if you want to track more than one conversion goal. The system allows for tracking up to three conversion goals using Postback.

4. You can track unique and non-unique conversions using Postback.

Find the conversion counting button under the advanced settings dropdown. By default, it’s set up to track only unique conversions. However, some funnels require counting multiple conversions with the same click ID. An example of this is a standard funnel with a "purchase" conversion and an upsell action after the first purchase. In this case, counting non-unique conversions feature will be useful for accurate tracking.

The conversion counting setting is available separately for each of the three conversion goals.

    4. newinterface_manual

Keep in mind that if the setting is mistakenly switched to count all conversions, it may result in inaccurate statistics. Use this feature only when necessary for specific scenarios.

    5. Select Manual setup from the drop-down menu.

    5. newinterface_manual

    6. Set up macros for tracking link, add the real get parameter for the click_id macro that the third-party tool uses.

The {click_id} macro is crucial for postback conversion tracking.  To make sure your Postback works as intended, add the real parameter for the {click_id} macro in this field.

    6. newinterface_manual

    7. You can also set up the  following fields:
    • Add additional macro by clicking the plus button;
    • Add any additional parameters to your tracking link. Custom tags will be included alongside system-defined macros when your campaigns go live;
    • Add UTM tags to the link.

Check the Tracking link preview field to see how the appended part of your tracking link will look with all macros and tags included.

    7. newinterface_manual

    8.  Scroll down to the Postback URLs section. Next to the goal name, click Get Postback URL and then copy the URL. Save the link on your device, as you will need it later.

    8. newinterface_manual

    9.  Save changes if editing, or publish the campaign if creating a new one.

    BeMob Dashboard Settings

    Set up the MGID template

MGID is already configured as a traffic source template on BeMob. Follow these steps to add MGID from BeMob’s templates:

    1. Navigate to the Traffic Sources section
    2. Click New From Template

    Bemob_5

    3. Select MGID from the template list and click Next.

    Bemob_6

    4. Paste the copied Postback URL (the link that was copied while creating Postback goals in the MGID dashboard) in the corresponding field and modify the tracking macros.

The configured Postback URL should resemble this link:

    https://a.mgid.com/postback/client_ID?c={externalId}&e=new123456&r={payout}

    Where:

    • {externalId} is a special BeMob token that is used to transfer conversion ID.
    • {payout} is a token used to transfer the payment amount per conversion.
    • new123456 is a unique MGID parameter or {status} macro.

    Bemob_7
    5. Select Approved status for setting Send postback with selected statuses. If this checkbox is empty, conversions will not be sent to MGID.

    Bemob_8

If you would like to pass data of conversion status to MGID, it is required to specify {status} along with your unique ID for the e parameter in the Postback URL:
    https://a.mgid.com/postback/client_ID?c={externalId}&e={status}123456&r={payout}

In this case, you should mark Approved, New and Declined checkboxes.

    Bemob_9

Tracking parameters and tokens supported by MGID are preconfigured in the template.
They are required to transfer traffic information to BeMob, such as teaser IDs, campaign IDs, widget IDs, etc..

    Bemob_10

    Creating a campaign

To create a campaign in the BeMob dashboard, follow these steps:

    1. Go to the Campaigns section.
    2. Click the New button.

    Bemob_11

    3. Enter the campaign’s name.
    4. Select MGID as the traffic source.
    5. Select the Auto cost model — MGID automatically sends cost data via a custom parameter.

More information on cost models is available in this article.

    6. Select the required traffic destination: Flow, Built-In Flow or URL.

    • Select Flow if you have previously configured landings and offers and set certain rules for traffic distribution.
    • Select Built-In Flow if you want to use offers and landings in your campaign without creating a separate flow. This is an easy and simple way to create a campaign.
    • Select the URL if you want to use your website’s link without creating a separate offer and landing in the tracker.

More information on a campaign’s destination settings is available here.

    7. Add your offer from the list of previously configured offers and save the campaign’s settings.

    Bemob_12

    8. A window with the Campaign Links will appear after saving the campaign’s settings.

Copy the Campaign URL link, as you will need it once you return to the MGID dashboard.

    Bemob_13

The BeMob’s Campaign URL uses the “http” protocol by default. You will need to add an “S” so the link starts with “https://”.

    9. Paste the Campaign URL to the Content URL field when creating/editing an ad in your MGID account.

Testing Conversion Transfer from BeMob to MGID

Next, we recommend that you ensure configuration setup was done successfully. You can verify the setup by following this instruction, which was created for clients to check if they have done everything correctly.

During testing, clicks are not calculated, money is not withdrawn and these clicks are not included in statistics.

You need to follow these steps to test the conversion transfer from the BeMob tracker:

    1. Navigate to the Ads section in the MGID dashboard.
    2. Click the Ads Preview button, displayed in the form of an eye icon.

    Bemob_15

    3. Click any advertisement widget and complete the conversion action.

    4. View data regarding test conversions in the Campaign List and Campaign statistics interfaces (it will be displayed under the conversion column within 15 minutes).

    5. Navigate to the section Live Visits/Live Clicks in your BeMob account to copy the click ID of your visit.

    Bemob_16

    6. Paste the copied click ID in the postback link that you are going to use in your partner network.

    For example:

    http://xxxxx.bemobtrk.com/postback?cid=MVCuypF3C2qGzhwFvo2tgf&payout=1

    7. Copy and paste the postback link into your browser.

Test conversion will be available in the Conversions section of your BeMob account.

    Bemob_17

Information that a test conversion was transferred from BeMob to MGID will be available in the Postbacks section.
