MGID Taiwan: Financial Compliance Policy (2026)
As of 2026, all financial advertisers targeting Taiwan must undergo Manual Compliance Review and provide G2 Financial Services Verification or equivalent licensing.
I. Licensing & Verification
- FSC License Required: All financial advertisers must provide a valid FSC Business License Number.
- Entity Matching: Ad and landing page branding must exactly match the licensed entity name.
- Third-Party Authorization: Agencies must provide a valid Letter of Authorization (LOA).
- G2 Verification: Required to confirm regulatory authorization or eligibility. Applies to financial advertisers and certain third parties.
- Exemptions: Government entities with .gov.tw domains are exempt.
II. Technical & Landing Page Requirements
- Transparency: APR, fees, and terms must be clearly disclosed.
- Contact Information: Must include a Taiwan address and customer service contact.
- Data Privacy: HTTPS required and a clear Privacy Policy must be present.
III. Ad Text & Imagery Standards
- Ads must be truthful, not misleading, and complete.
- Material risks must not be omitted.
- Risk disclosure is mandatory on the landing page.
- “Get rich quick” messaging is strictly prohibited and may result in account suspension.
IV. Creative Guidelines
Headlines (Teasers)
- Must be factual, specific, and not misleading.
- Must not use urgency, guarantees, or “secret/loophole” claims.
Images
- Must be realistic and professional.
- Must not imply wealth, mimic system alerts, or use unauthorized endorsements.
V. Specific Vertical Guidelines
A. Loans (Consumer Lending)
- Must disclose APR, fees, total cost, and repayment terms.
- Approval conditions must be clearly stated.
- Targeting financially vulnerable users is prohibited.
B. Credit Cards
- Must disclose interest rates, fees, penalties, and key conditions.
- Eligibility restrictions must be stated where applicable.
C. Investment Products
- Risk warnings are mandatory.
- Messaging must be balanced (risk and return).
- Guaranteed returns are prohibited.
- Suitability principles must not be undermined.
D. Crypto & Virtual Assets (VASP)
- Advertisers must be compliant VASPs or disclose regulatory status.
- Mandatory risk disclosure regarding volatility and non-legal tender status.
- AML/KYC compliance is required.
Prohibited:
- Guaranteed returns or fixed income claims
- “Safe” or “low-risk” positioning
- Promotion of unregistered tokens or anonymous projects
- Manipulative or hype-driven messaging
Product Rules:
- Exchanges: must disclose fees and trading risks
- Wallets: no guaranteed security claims
- Staking/Yield: returns must not be presented as guaranteed
VI. Prohibited Content (All Financial Products)
- Misleading or deceptive claims
- Unrealistic or exaggerated returns
- “Get rich quick” messaging
- False urgency
- Impersonation of government or financial institutions
- Fake testimonials or fabricated results
Prohibited Products / Schemes:
- Unregulated binary options
- Illegal forex/crypto schemes
- Pyramid or Ponzi schemes
Targeting Restrictions:
- No targeting of vulnerable or financially inexperienced users
