Multimedia Formats Master Brief / Rich Media Creatives-DV360-Video

Rich Media Overview

Rich Media (RM) creatives are built using the Somplo platform. Unlike standard display ads, Rich Media creatives can include more advanced functionality, such as:

  • Interactive elements and user interactions
  • Video playback
  • Interaction tracking
  • Animations and other dynamic elements

The complexity and available functionality depend on the creative concept and technical feasibility.

Creative Asset Requirements

If the client already has a creative design, visual concept or existing campaign materials that the Rich Media creative should follow or be based on, please ask them to provide the materials according to the requirements below.

Image Dimensions

To ensure the highest possible visual quality, source materials should be provided at these dimensions.

Final Ad Size

Recommended Source Size

300 × 250 px

600 × 500 px

300 × 600 px

600 × 1200 px

General rule: source assets should be at least 2x the dimensions of the final ad size.

Always ask clients to provide the highest-resolution assets available, preferably without compression. Editable source files such as PSD, AI or Figma projects are highly recommended whenever available.

It is always better to resize high-quality source materials than to rely on AI upscaling of low-resolution assets.

Component / Layer Size

Each individual component or layer should be up to 150 KB.

Provided materials will be automatically compressed where necessary to meet the technical requirements.

Video Requirements

  • Resolution: at least 720p (HD)
  • Formats: MOV or MP4
  • Maximum duration: 2 minutes
  • Recommended duration: 15–30 seconds

Shorter videos are strongly recommended, as they generally provide a better balance between creative quality, loading performance and user engagement.

Brand Guidelines and Fonts

If available, please ask the client to provide their brand book / brand guidelines.

It is also important to request any custom or brand-specific fonts used in the campaign. These fonts are not always available or identifiable from the client's landing page, so they should be provided separately whenever possible.

Overall Creative Weight

The total creative load must not exceed 4 MB.

This limit applies to the combined weight of all creative components, including images, animations, video and other assets.

Creative Brief Recommendations

Gather as Much Context as Possible

Encourage clients to provide detailed information about the campaign, including:

  • Main campaign goal
  • Key message
  • Key product or service being promoted
  • Target audience
  • Brand requirements
  • Creative preferences
  • Mandatory elements
  • Restrictions or elements that should be avoided

The more context we receive, the better we can align the Rich Media creative with the client's expectations and campaign objectives.

When the Client Already Has a Rich Media Concept

If the client has a specific idea of how the Rich Media creative should look or behave, collect as much detail as possible.

Ideally, ask the client to describe not only the desired visual appearance but also the expected interactions, animations, transitions, video behavior and user journey.

This helps us:

  • Assess whether the concept is technically feasible
  • Identify potential limitations at an early stage
  • Recommend suitable alternatives where necessary
  • Reduce unnecessary revision rounds
  • Ensure the final creative is as close as possible to what the client envisioned

References, examples, mockups, storyboards, videos, screenshots or links demonstrating the desired behavior are highly valuable.

Recommended Client Briefing Questions

The following questions can help collect the information needed to develop the creative:

  1. What is the main goal of the campaign?
  2. What is the key message you want users to remember?
  3. Who is the target audience?

  7. Are there any mandatory messages, disclaimers, logos, CTAs, or other elements that must be included?
  8. Is there anything we should avoid mentioning or showing?
  9. Do you have a brand book or other brand guidelines we should follow?
  10. Does the brand use any custom fonts? If yes, can you provide the font files?
  11. Are there existing creatives, campaigns or examples you would like us to replicate or use as inspiration?

  13. Are there any specific interactions, animations, video elements or effects you would like to explore?
Important Note

If no additional creative direction or campaign context is provided, our team will conduct its own research and develop the creative based on our expertise, available campaign information, brand materials, and industry best practices.
