What is Search Feed Provider Moderation?

Search Feed provider moderation is an extra moderation step applied to ad creatives in campaigns with a configured feed provider. To keep your search-feed campaigns compliant and running smoothly, creatives with a configured Tonic feed go through an extra review step on top of MGID’s standard checks.

This additional step was introduced in response to Google’s updated RSoC restrictions taking effect August 25, 2025. As a result, search feed providers now rely on their ad-tech partners (like MGID) to help moderate creatives.

1.SF-moderation

How the two-step review works:

Step 1: MGID Compliance Review

  • When you submit creatives, they first go through MGID’s internal compliance moderation;
  • During this time, creatives enter the "On moderation" status in the interface (see the example screenshot).

2.SF-moderation

Step 2: Tonic Compliance Review

  • Once MGID approves, we automatically forward your creatives to Tonic for their own compliance check.
  • While Tonic is reviewing, you’ll see Blocked by moderator with the reason Pending review by Search Feed provider.

3.SF-moderation

Outcomes you’ll see in the platform:

Approved by Tonic: The creative is automatically unblocked and enters rotation—no action required on your side.

❌ Rejected by Tonic: Status remains Blocked by moderator with the reason Rejected by Search Feed provider — Reason: {provider_reason}.

This creative can’t be launched in campaigns unless edited and resubmitted.

4.SF-moderation

This additional moderation step applies only if your campaign’s Search provider is set to Tonic. For all other providers, MGID’s standard moderation flow applies.
