Compliance Risk Levels

High Risk
Medium Risk
Low Risk

To maintain a safe, transparent, and high-quality advertising ecosystem, MGID applies a structured, risk-based approach to ad moderation.

Each rejection reason is assigned one of three Compliance Risk Levels:

  • High Risk
  • Medium Risk
  • Low Risk

These levels reflect the potential impact on:

  • Platform policy compliance
  • User safety
  • Publisher trust
  • MGID’s brand reputation

Below is a detailed explanation of what each level means and how it may affect your account.

High Risk

High-risk violations are considered critical. They include issues related to:

  • Threats to user and platform security;
  • Illegal or regulatorily restricted content;
  • Serious breaches of ethical standards;
  • Deceptive or fraudulent practices;
  • Violations of transparency and user disclosure requirements;
  • Significant breaches of brand and platform standards.
Because of their severity, these violations require immediate and strict enforcement compliance measures.

Possible Consequences

Advertisers who repeatedly commit High-risk violations may be subject to enforcement actions, including but not limited to:

  • Mandatory manual moderation for all creatives;
  • Reprioritization in the moderation queue (i.e., lower priority);
  • Restricted or completely disabled rotation on premium and/or Tier 1–Tier 2 publishers;
  • Account suspension or blocking;
  • Blocking of specific account actions (e.g., copying, editing, etc.);
  • Restrictions on creating creatives in specific categories;
  • Limited access to High Safety Ranking due to overall account reputation;
  • Reduced limits on the number of creatives that can be created;
  • Additional sanctions depending on the nature and severity of the violation.

All final enforcement decisions are made at the sole discretion of the Compliance team

Medium Risk

Medium-risk violations typically involve:

  • Incorrect or inconsistent content presentation;
  • Misleading users without posing a direct safety threat;
  • Content that requires increased regulatory attention;
  • Technical or visual deficiencies;
  • Inconsistencies in language or geographic parameters.

These issues require careful correction in line with the Compliance team’s recommendations before resubmission.

Possible Consequences:

  • Medium-risk violations are typically limited to creative rejections that contain recommendations for correction, without immediate system-wide sanctions.
  • Systematic violations may result in reduced priority in the moderation queue.
  • Repeated violations may trigger additional reviews and enhanced manual control, thereby increasing moderation time.

Ignoring compliance recommendations or repeatedly submitting similar violations may elevate the issue to the high-risk level, resulting in stricter enforcement.

Low Risk

Low-risk violations are generally minor and include:

  • Technical or visual inaccuracies
  • Minor language or formatting errors
  • Decorative or contextual inconsistencies

If these issues are not repetitive or abusive, consequences are limited to:

  • Creative rejection with minor edit recommendations
  • No impact on overall account activity
  • No account-level restrictions
  • No reduction in moderation priority

By understanding compliance risk levels, advertisers can better align their creatives with platform requirements, reduce moderation delays, and maintain strong account standing within the MGID ecosystem.
